Humiliating State

In an article that appeared in the Utica Phoenix entitled “Gay Marriage: Live and Let Live” by Stephen Kershnar, I find it surprising and weird how the writer “begs” and “pleads” for the State to recognize, accept, legalize and approve of gay marriages. He has a serious misconception of the meaning and role of the State in people’s lives. The State has no authority or power to invent such perverted and aberrant unions and sham relationships and to place them on the same footing as man-woman marriages. This has about as much logic as Frankenstein begging his mad doctor to invent him a wife. It is pure fantasy.

The traditional family has no need to ask the State to recognize it since she herself gave it birth.  The traditional, normal and natural relationship and marriage between a man and woman is the first and primordial society, of which all other societies are built upon and have their origin. It ontologically precedes them. The State obtains its being from the man-woman marriage and family structure and depends on it for its existence. If someday the family and man-woman marriage were to be destroyed, the State would go along with it (as unhappily has time and again happened in history). The State is born out of, grows, develops and expands from the family and man-woman marriage society, and not the other way around. If the family weakens, the State also weakens because she depends upon her for strength, power and permanence.

Stephen Kershnar presents some silly, stupid and illogical reasons to back up his argument (which is lamentable for a university professor). One of them is the type used by eight year olds: “Why can’t I do something wrong if my older sister did it?” Kershnar says: “Well, the State approved of prostitution and pornography, so why can’t it accept gay marriages?” In other words, two wrongs make a right? By these words, aren’t you hanging yourself and admitting that gay marriage, too, is something immoral? Why can’t I carry the law further on wrong things, since it already approved of them in the past, so who cares about it anyway? Isn’t this Kershanar’s contempt for the law? Now, if Kershnar in his conscience truly believes that gay marriage is something good, moral and natural, why is he is so anxious to have it approved by the State?

Kershnar, in his article, attempts to answer four objections to gay marriages. In one of them, he says that they do not harm children and that one third of lesbians and one fifth of male gays already have sons and daughters. It is certainly not from their loins (which is physically impossible), but from previous marriages or simply adopted. In order that a child receives a wholesome and integral personality development, it needs both the love and presence of the mother and father and their indispensable and necessary qualities. This is not present in same sex unions. The moral formation is the most important aspect of human growth and this comes from the values and lifestyles of the family. A union based on simple aberrant erotic desires and practices is extremely detrimental to a young girl or boy. Nowhere is child abuse so dangerous than in the environment of a gay marriage.

Second, Kershnar claims that there is no data to prove that gay marriage will deteriorate  heterosexual marriage. Obviously, our illustrious writer never read history. The twilight of the great civilizations have all been preceded by an increase and dominance of gay activities: Sodom and Gomorrah, Greece, Rome, etc. As cancer cells signal the end of a human life, so too, does the increased presence of gay activity in a nation point to its death and annihilation. The gays who dominate the political, social, cultural and financial sections of society simply plunder and pillage everyone, whether morally or psychologically. The soap operas, TV programs, movies, etc with their sick arguments and hedonistic outlook on life are the fruits of gay activities. Once in command, the gays exercise a cynical and cruel power over others, taking away and eliminating social freedoms and rights. They become extremely intolerant towards others and impose their views on everyone. Gays are much more dangerous than abortionists and society need to be on the lookout for its safety.

Finally, Kershnar says that gays have the lowest divorce rates of all. Naturally, if their partner attempts to free himself from a torturous relationship, the other will hound him down to death. Fear, therefore keeps them together.
