Clerical Controversy over Abortion

                            I really lament the lack of precision in our dear priest's article on abortion. He committed the same mistakes he is trying to condemn. The words that come from a fool's mouth will expose and point him out as one. He said that "...if abortion is intrinsically evil then I can’t accept that nature allows abortions (miscarriages) as a way of dealing with malformed fetuses". No one ever said that abortion is an intrinsic evil. What is an intrinsic evil is a procured abortion. A procured abortion occurs when the mother willfully and consciously decides to end the life of her baby. That is an intrinsic evil which no circumstance will ever justify. Read your Church documents carefully, Father... and pay careful attention to every word written in them in order not to make stupid and illogical conclusions that will cause you to be discredited as a writer and thinker.

                          The priest then states that "... If we have one unique human being present at the moment of conception how do we then explain twinning which can take place up to two weeks after conception? We can’t have one unique human being splitting into two unique human beings."If you want to know how twins come around, you should consult Robert and Mary Joyce or Dr. Hilgers of the Pope Paul VI Institute. They will give you all the scientific information on the matter and how it occurs. In all appearances, one unique individual comes into conception, but there really could be two or more that will definitely manifest themselves physically which simply shared the primordial original cells or occurred due to the double ovulation of the mother. This is no argument against the existence of human life at its beginning. There is much to learn on human life, but the fact that the complete mystery is not yet unfolded or completely understood is no reason to confirm that this person not truly present in his totality. Science is so advanced nowadays that it proves beyond the shadow of a doubt that the zygote present in the womb of the mother at conception is truly a unique and undeniable human being. There is no fallibility here.

Further on he says "..Note that the pre-scientific world also believed the male sperm contained all the components of life and consequently masturbation and spilling the seed (birth control) were also serious sins." Masturbation is not abortion since the sperm alone does not constitute a unique human being and contains only half the chromosomes that define it. If you are also in tune with what the Church says on birth control, you will know that the withdrawal method is a serious sin, and God even punished it by death in the Bible. Really, there is nothing worse than a so-called wise man talking exactly like a fool. It is these types that make our Catholic Church to be nothing more than a laughingstock!
