Alcoholism and Abortion

In this past month, I took my car (a 2006 Fiat Siena which I bought with the generous donations of parishes in central New York) and went on a trip that covered five of the 22 States of Brazil. It was a total of 3,500 miles. What was the reason for all this traveling? Two things motivated me: I needed to get away from the polluted and neurotic city of Sao Paulo, physical stress and tension and recover a bit my peace of mind. Secondly, since a part of the 250 million overseas dollars that Obama sent to promote his anti-birth campaigns came to Brazil, I decided to counter attack in some way. I went from city to city and parish to parish spreading pro-life material and literature. (Obama says that there is an economic crisis in the USA, yet he can afford to give away 250 million dollars to kill foreign children. He has given the "poor" banks three trillion dollars to "help" them in their "necessity". What about all the poor Americans who need help in their necessities? Why didn't he give them the money instead? If you divide three trillion dollars amongst 300 million Americans, it gives each one 100,000 dollars! Every American family of four members in our country would be able to buy their home at one shot! Even if you divide three trillion dollars amongst six billion people in the world, it gives them 5,000 dollars each! How many African and Asian families could improve their lives with such a contribution? The danger now is that a few dozen powerful men will have in their hands three trillion dollars!)
Someone might ask: Wasn’t all this traveling very expensive? Not at all. To begin with, the alcohol fuel in Brazil is extremely cheap and the Fiat automobile was very economic. With two full tanks, I was able to make it to the nation’s capitol of Brasilia (a distance of 500 miles). I only paid 40 dollars to fill the two tanks. In the central part of the country, hitch hiking is a common, normal and accepted practice. Many families to whom I gave a ride also contributed to paying for the fuel. I also spent only 4 dollars a day to eat. Brazil has many family type establishments and restaurants where food is cooked on an open wood stove. One pays the entrance price and can eat as much as he wishes (good old style food). I slept in the parishes I also slept at times, in the tent I brought with me at the side of a lake or river. I would rest in my hammock tied to the big trees in the open squares and parks of the cities. Family style hotels were also only 15 dollars a night with breakfast in the morning.  My itinerary consisted of the following cities: Sao Paulo, Jundiai, Campinas, Americana, Rio Claro, Sao Carlos, Barretos, Itumbiara, Mourrinhos, Caldas Novas, Catalao, Cristalina, Brasilia, Anapolis, Pirenopolis, Uruacu, Goiania, Jales, Aracatuba, Presidente Prudente, Londrina, Curitiba, Joinville, Itajai, Camboriu, Sao Paulo. The only drawback I had was when my car battery went out. God, however, was with me: the battery died right in front of a car battery store! I just got out of my car and bought a new one in the store in front of me!
On this journey, one of the things that dismayed me was to see thousands and thousands of youth and women given over to alcoholism. Everywhere I went I would see them in bars, restaurants, parks, gas stations, etc, all with a bottle of vodka, whiskey, beer or wine in their hands. I was aghast at witnessing all of this. It is not the golden calf that people in Brazil are worshipping, but the beer bottle. Why this phenomena? Why so much emphasis on alcohol? I noticed how there is an exaggerated amount of advertising in relation to beer. There is not one moment of prime time on TV that does not have an intense beer commercial full of hilarity. If I turn on the radio, every country music that plays has a least a line that mentions women, beer, dance halls and rodeos.  I suspect that there must be some sort of a plot going on. The artists are paid off to compose music with the words of beer in them. I also believe that the abortion organizations have joined hands with the beer companies. The Fathers of the Church tell us that orgies in Rome were always preceded by drunkenness in order to get rid of the psychological inhibition to shameless actions. Alcohol is necessary in order to loosen up the youth for sexual activity. The abortion industry is well aware of this. By promoting alcoholism, people will engage in sexual relations and the girls get pregnant. They in turn provide more baby products for the abortion mills that will make money off them.
Now you might ask as to where these people get the money to buy so much beer? A person addicted to alcohol will spend everything he has on his booze. When he finds that finally his pocket is empty, he will resort to crime to keep his addiction going. Alcoholism and criminal activity walk hand in hand. Camboriu is a famous beach town of Brazil in the southern part of the country. When I arrived there, I stopped to buy a pistachio flavored ice cream and sat on the bench by the shore to eat it. As I consumed my ice cream I noticed three women on the other side of the street drinking and smoking at an open restaurant. They must have been there for awhile since they had nine empty bottles of beer on their table. They began to argue amongst themselves as to who was going to pay the bill since they had no money left. A man happened to pass by and they called him over to their table with flirty looks. They asked him if he drank beer and he responded “yes”. They ordered more bottles and continued smoking and drinking and talking nonsense and silly empty things (as all drunks normally do). At a certain point the man got up to go to the men’s room. While he was there, the three women quickly got in their car and drove off to another bar about four blocks down the avenue. There they put their scheme back into action. When the first victim came back to the table, he found that there was no one there. The waiter came with the bill for him to pay 15 bottles of beer and six packs of cigarettes!
