Ganganal

St. Hildegard was the first saint to write about medicinal plants, which she also used for herself. She made abundant use of a Chinese herb called "ganganal", a close relative of the ginger root. It was a great pain-killer. According to Saint Hildegard, what we hear affects us mentally and physically. Harsh, negative, sad, gloomy, pessimistic, etc. things affect our liver, which in turn affects our blood vessels and brings about pain. That is why St. Hildegard avoided all types of negative conversations and sounds and composed beautiful, soft, soothing music.

In the web-site: http://kitchendoctor.com/articles/galangal.html, one will find a fine article on galangal by a female doctor and many other medicinal herbal recipes of St. Hildegard. St. Hildegard also wrote about human sexuality and even said that the father determines the sex of the child (back in the 11th century!). She is worth investigating. To get to the best web-site on galangal. 1) search for: http:tweedledee.ucsb.edu/~kris/music/hildegard.html  2) press the blue letters that say galangal 3) it will take one to the site of Ingrid Naiman who explains in detail the plant and says how it destroys candida also
