Saint Cyril of Jerusalem on the Eucharist

I have a question for those who do not believe in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist and deny that the consecrated bread and wine is truly His Body and Blood.

1) Is it because they hold it impossible for Christ to perform such a miracle? If Jesus is the Son of God and miraculously cured so many people, rose from the dead by His own Divine power and changed water into wine at Cana, then what is the problem of He changing wine into His own Blood and bread into HIs own Body? What is the difference between one miracle and another? Don't they all come from Divine power? What is the difficulty in believing that Jesus could transfrom material elements into His own nature?

2) If it is held that Jesus cannot do this, then this proves that Jesus is impotent, limited and false. He is not really the Son of God, but a weak imposter. How can anyone accept a Christ like that  and even turn and trust his life over to Him?

These are the reflections and challenging questions of St. Cyril of Jerusalem, doctor of the Church. They are worth thinking and meditating on.
