Negative sexuality of Pope St.Gregory the Great

In his sexual obsessions, St. Gregory the Great prohibited any man who had been twice married or married to a widow, to be ordained a priest or bishop. He reasoned that a man who sought a second marriage was motivated and dominated by carnal problems and impure desires! In France, a priest who had been married to a widow was elected bishop of his city. St. Gregory did not confirm the decision, solely in view of this one factor of the bishop previously being married to the widow. He put another person in the Episcopal power replacing the legitimate bishop. This created a great havoc and indignation on the part of the deposed bishop. Other bishops around the world thought Gregory to be extremely exaggerated and overly harsh in his decision, orientation and practice.  The French clergy nearly entered into schism because of Gregory's bizarre outlook and mentality.

The following citation confirms Gregory's sexual obsessions in his counsels to violated virgins. This is a real slap in the face to women's dignity and shows that Pope Gregory is more terrifying than great:

"...VIII. Maidens who have suffered violence are not to compare themselves with others. Those handmaids of God who have lost their chastity by the violence of barbarians, will be more praiseworthy in their humility and shame-facedness, if they do not venture to compare themselves to undefiled virgins. For although every sin springs from the desire, and the will may have remained unconquered and unpolluted by the fall of the flesh still this will be less to their detriment, if they grieve over losing even in the body what they did not lose in spirit.."

I ask: why doesn't Pope Gregory advise the barbarian swine to do penance for the obvious crime, instead of unjustly demanding that an innocent virginal victim be obligated to perform a penance of which she has no fault?

Now you know where our problems today come from?
